Five Canberra restaurants designed to impress

Koto has been featured by HerCanberra among five Canberra restaurants designed to impress, recognised for bringing together a striking setting and a carefully considered Japanese dining experience.

At the heart of Koto’s menu is the Kaiseki philosophy, with traditional Japanese principles guiding a selection of seafood, vegetables and premium beef that respects the ingredients and the land around them. Executive Chef and Sushi Master Shinya Nakano, who trained in Kyoto with a fifth-generation sushi master, leads the culinary experience.

The setting is equally central to the experience. From the Japanese gardens surrounding the restaurant to its moody interior, 15-seat sushi bar, luxurious main dining area and two private dining rooms, every part of Koto has been designed to create a distinctive atmosphere.

Located in the elegant pavilion that was once home to The Lobby, Koto has become a destination suited to everything from corporate lunches to celebrations, combining Japanese-inspired cuisine with a setting designed to make an impression.
